Current Main Interests (from most to least interest): The Mechanisms, Spiderverse, Undertale, The Magnus Archives, Minecraft

Hobbies: drawing, writing, music on occasion

I don’t really tag consistently but here’s a few tags I use:

#q - my queue, usually art from other people

#funnies - things i find funny

#for bad days - just things to cheer me up

i will tag fandoms with their name (ex. #undertale, #stardew valley, etc)

suzanne collins is such a genius... the cultural phenomena of her series leading to the hanging tree house remixes, mockingjay being milked for two (bad) movies, the capitol-inspired makeup palettes, the halloween costumes, the explosion of the market for dystopia, the butchering of her characters and removal of disabilities, disfiguration, and racial tension + representation to sell more tickets, the extra gale scenes to fuel discourse, and the audience showing up to cinemas to watch what was pretty honestly marketed to them (the jacob vs edwardification of the symbolic love story and also to watch children fight to the death) it's just so ridiculously ironic i would say you can't write this shit, but she did write about it... in The Hunger Games published 2008

Amazon is being sued by the FTC and 17 states for being an illegal monopoly

mih-nah-mina

hi hey please talk about this as much as you can constantly over time

so often i've seen big-ass Stupid Bullshit News about Stupid Bullshit become absolutely nothing after like 3 days. i'm so fucking tired of it because it means that nothing changes, since we've forgotten what we need to change.

now amazon is getting sued. awesome! this is the first time i've heard of it. the suit was filed presumably somewhere between a few hours and a day ago, so that's understandable.

is this really, really going to be covered after, i dunno, three days? i honestly don't reckon so. amazon has enough money and probably apathy to make this not as much of an important lawsuit as it should - and maybe could - be.

i would love to be reminded every day for weeks and then months that amazon is being sued for operating an illegal monopoly. i want to read every joke, hear every update, see every move that's made until this shit is wrapped up. i don't just want to operate on hope and, inversely, a lack of faith on this one.

i want my anger over the way things are run to be grounded in things happening right here and right now, instead of historical events that make you go "that sucks. can't change the past! :)" and move on, because that changes nothing in the present or the future. please talk about amazon getting sued by the federal trade commission and 17 state attourneys-general for breaking antitrust laws by being an illegal monopoly.

I'm not a psychology researcher, but my guess would be that the nature of it being a time-limited puzzle game where you have to juggle multiple factors means that your short-term memory gets filled and the traumatic images are "dumped" in favor of remembering how many times to rotate the L piece. "As soon as possible" is probably because the sooner you do it, the less likely it is to become part of your long-term memory.

If that is true, then other time-limited activities where you have to remember and plan in a tight time frame may serve a similar purpose.

I think one of the goals of society should be that someone who requires expensive medicine and a lot of care can live an amazing life, the longest life they possibly can, with dignity, even if they have no friends or family or anyone who cares enough about them to help. the goals of a society should be to make life better than if we are alone, society should want life to be as good as possible for as many people as possible, and those goals should account for people not having social support networks.

social life aside, the most hated or ignored person in town should be able to live as good and fair and just of a life as the most loved person in town. survival needs to stop being a popularity contest.
